Acoustic management allows the user to reduce the noise produced by the hard disk. This can be done by reducing the spindle engine rotation speed or head movement velocity. Note that acoustic management is closely related to advanced power management. A reduction of power consumption also results in a reduction of noise and unavoidable, a reduction in drive speed.
