This is the standard power cable used widely in computer systems. The cable has four wires which carry 5 Volt (red cable) 12 volt (yellow cable) and two ground/return (black cable). These cables get their power directly from the systems power supply unit. Two connectors are attached to these cables, the connector used by hard disks can be tricky to unplug (sometimes requiring quite some force). All PATA and some SATA devices use this connector type.
