A drive platter is divided in concentric rings. Each ring is called a track. All tracks perpendicular on each platter are called a cylinder. Due to the large difference between the length of the inner and outer physical track not all physical tracks contain the same amount of sectors this is called Zone Bit Recording (ZBR)
